Religious Awards
Religious awards are recognized by B.S.A., but B.S.A. does not control these awards in any way. The requirements for religious awards are prepared by denominations and faith groups, and it is appropriate that the awards be presented in worship services. After the award has been presented to the Scout in his faith’s worship service, it is appropriate for the award to be announced at a regular unit Court of Honor.
In many faith groups, instruction for the religious award can be shared by all youth, Scout and non-Scout, boys and girls. In most cases religious awards recognized by B.S.A. are also recognized by Girl Scouts, Campfire, and other youth-serving organizations.
The National Relationships Division of the Boy Scouts of America has prepared a chart with information about the various religious awards recognized by B.S.A. You can reach that chart with the following link:

For other religious award programs see Faith Group Scouting Websites.
ADULT RELIGIOUS AWARDS: Adults registered with the Boy Scouts of America are authorized to wear a special “square knot” on their uniform if they have received an adult religious award from their faith group. The basis for these adult awards varies widely among faith groups. In some faith groups the award is honorary and the adults must be nominated. In other faith groups the nominee is required to have met certain standards. In some other faith groups there are requirements for the adult religious award and anyone meeting these requirements will receive the award. For information, talk with your faith group’s scouting official or go to the chart of religious awards link.
